Perceived Influence of Social Media on Students Academic Performance As Expressed By Secondary School Teachers in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja: Implications for Counselling

Abstract

This study investigated the perceived influence of social media on the academic performance of secondary school students in FCT, Abuja. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A total of 120 teachers participated in the study. One research question was raised while two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at a 0.05 level of significance. The instrument used for data collection for this study was a researcher-designed questionnaire entitled “Influence of social media on academic performance Questionnaire” (ISMAPQ).
